About Our Client: Our client is a market-leading manufacturing company specializing in the production of innovative solutions for the mining industry. Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Mechanical Draftsperson to join our clients team on a 12-month contract basis with the potential to go on. As a key member of their engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of mining vehicles that are at the forefront of the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to create detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models of mining vehicles and related components.
• Ensure that all drawings and models adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to optimize product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support the development and implementation of engineering changes and revisions.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide technical support and resolve any design-related issues that may arise during production.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing design processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson, preferably in the manufacturing or mining industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of mining vehicle systems and components is an asset.
