Finance & Business Officer
  • $50 - $60 per hour + Super
  • 6-month full-time contract
  • Centennial Park location + WFH 
  • Opportunity to work within the NSW Government
As a Finance and Business Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to our business units' staff on procurement, commercial, and administrative matters. You will assist in maintaining and reconciling accounts in SAP project and Finance systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures. Additionally, you will work closely with Project Managers to allocate capital, revenue, and expenses accurately and assist in preparing financial reports for management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and guidance to business unit staff on procurement, commercial, and administrative matters.
  • Assist in maintaining and reconciling accounts in SAP project and Finance systems.
  • Support Project Managers in accurately allocating capital, revenue, and expenses to WBS, profit centre, cost centre, and General Ledger accounts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reconciliation schedules, ensuring compliance with reconciliation register requirements.
  • Provide various financial support functions, including preparing P&L statements and coordinating financial reports for divisions and production.
  • Process journals in a timely and accurate manner to meet operational requirements.
  • Review systems and processes and recommend improved methods to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Time management and prioritisation to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of project management systems and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex financial and procurement challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Proficiency in SAP project and experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with financial reconciliation processes and procedures.
