Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Mechanical Draftsperson to join our clients team on a 12-month contract basis with the potential to go on. As a key member of their engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of mining vehicles that are at the forefront of the industry. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineers and designers to create detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models of mining vehicles and related components.
Ensure that all drawings and models adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in design reviews and provide input to optimize product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
Support the development and implementation of engineering changes and revisions.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide technical support and resolve any design-related issues that may arise during production.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson, preferably in the manufacturing or mining industry.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings and specifications.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of mining vehicle systems and components is an asset.
