Job description

  • $120-130k salary + vehicle 
  • Main Location Potts Point - sometimes required to travel to different sites 
  • Leading Engineering Projects 
About the role:
2XM Recruit is partnering up with a leading client in the engineering space supplying to Defence, Marine and Commercial industries. You will lead the all engineering projects on site and provide technical guidance with the Trades on site and the operations team. 

Key resposibilities:
  • Coordinate technician schedules and allocate resources for routine and emergency maintenance tasks across Naval and Commercial marine platforms
  • Proactively organize spares, tools, and logistics to facilitate timely execution of maintenance activities
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and customer compliance standards
  • Uphold safety, quality, and environmental protocols throughout all operations
  • Offer technical expertise and advice to support operational efficiency and project success
  • Perform troubleshooting and conduct repairs or replacements of shipboard components
  • Complete Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEA), issue Permits to Work, manage isolations, and conduct risk assessments
  • Generate comprehensive written and photographic reports documenting completed tasks
  • Engage with clients, including procurement and quoting for new projects

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • 2 years of project engineering or supervisory involvement in heavy industry settings
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leadership, interpersonal communication, and team management
  • Possess strong drive, initiative, and motivational attributes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are imperative
  • Physical fitness and good health are prerequisites for the role
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency status is mandatory to meet security requirements
  • Previous experience in marine or offshore environments is highly advantageous
  • Background in mechanical or marine trades, or possession of a relevant degree, is preferred
  • Proficiency in basic IT skills, including MS Office programs and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience in developing Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEA), issuing Permits to Work, managing isolations, and conducting risk analyses
  • Proven track record in developing scopes of work, project schedules, and budgets.
