We are delighted to be assisting our specialised Rail Engineering client who are based in Perth to source a self-sufficient and proactive Senior HSE Advisor to join their incredibly talented and highly motivated team.

The Role
As the Senior HSE Advisor you will be working with an extremely talented team of regional and corporate HSE members and others within Operations, Engineering, and the Quality disciplines, this Senior HSE Advisor position is to improve and develop HSE systems and fully implement these and in line with the companies OHV QMS and legislation.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a minimum of 10 years WHS experience with a large company with heavy industry and high-risk experience at corporate and project level.  This role will require some flexibility with regards work hours and travel with some regional travel required, WFH/Office/Site & Workshop involved.

Salary Range of $140145K + Super, Company vehicle, company phone, company Laptop & Performance related (Merit Review) bonus scheme
  • Manage and lead major projects and facilitate compliance events including audits, observation reviews & Audits
  • Provide HSE training and advice to staff and managers in line with company requirements and legislation
  • Develop site plans and present risk assessments for tenders based off Project requirements
  • Ability to develop, prepare and present effective and detailed Workplace Health Safety and Environmental Management Plans for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to mentor and lead any Junior HSE personnel in the region
  • Lead, Participate and represent HSE in Project, Construction and Facility Risk Assessments
  • Assist within the full process of accident/incidents investigations, including leading, reporting and managing
  • Liaise with external stakeholders (Government, Customer and Community) representing the company on all HSE matters
  • Reporting on all elements of HSE within your region as required by Senior Managers and Project Managers (Monthly reporting)
  • Assist in managing, promoting, and ensuring high level of HSE management in all aspects in your region
  • This person must be a Positive Person, willing to help, and be a team player who can work equally efficiently on their own & manage HSE functions within projects
  • Key involvement in the development of company HSE policies, systems and programs in line with legislation
  • Provide documented KPI reports for projects and facilities

The successful Senior HSE Advisor will have a proven track record within demonstratable skills within this field.

In order to be considered for the Senior HSE Advisor role, the client requires the below key attributes:
  • A good working Knowledge of I.T including SharePoint and Incident, Reporting and Recording systems
  • Experience working with Tier 1 Contractors and Government bodies such as PTA, Main Roads WA etc
  • Qualification and experience in incident investigation techniques e.g. ICAM or 5 Why Investigation methods
  • Federal Safety Commission Accreditation and Auditing experience – essential
  • Auditing/Lead Auditor qualifications and experience auditing to ISO standards (45001, 9001 and 14001)
  • Experience in a Rail Environment, Cert IV Training & Assessing & Project Management experience is Highly desirable
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Utilise strong interpersonal skills and show the ability to work with minimal supervision
