Senior Policy Officer

Role Overview:

2XM Recruit is seeking a Senior Policy Officer, on behalf of a NSW Government. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, programs, and policies to support the NSW public health system in addressing violence, abuse, and neglect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with and manage a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coordinated statewide approach to integrating violence, abuse, and neglect services with broader health services.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate, clear, and timely written and verbal communications, including policy documents, briefs, correspondence, meetings, and presentations for Senior Executives and key staff within the public health organisations, and related government agencies.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, programs, and policies aimed at addressing violence, abuse, and neglect within the public health system.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to support decision-making processes and facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Utilise strong policy and program management skills, stakeholder engagement techniques, and effective communication and negotiation skills to achieve organisational objectives.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience in policy and program management, particularly in the areas of violence, abuse, and neglect.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate, clear, and persuasive documents and presentations for a range of audiences.
  • Experience in providing secretariat support for meetings and committees is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the NSW public health system and related government agencies is advantageous.
