Our client is looking for experienced Traction Linespersons to join their North Queensland team. The role below is for an Overhead Traction Power Equipment Installer, Maintainer and Repairer however we are also seeking Signal Electricians and Control & Comms Techs.

In the traction lineperson role, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead traction power equipment in accordance with predefined work programs. You'll also coordinate site protection, manage safe working and environmental protection, and maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs, and costing systems.

You'll report on actual work performed against scheduled work programs and equipment, progress the implementation and application of work procedures to ensure continuous quality improvement, and assist in and carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of trackside systems, equipment, and infrastructure in accordance with procedures.

To be successful in this role, you'll need
  • Electrical Trade Qualification (mandatory),
  • Certificate III in Rail Traction (highly desirable),
  • QLD Electrical Licence – Traction Linesperson (highly desirable).
  • You'll also need a current Class C Driver's Licence (mandatory) a high-risk work licence including Rigging, Dogging and EWP, (advantageous)
  • substantial knowledge of overhead traction power equipment, and relevant maintenance and installation standards.
