We're excited to offer an immediate, full-time, permanent position for an Electrical Rail Control Systems Technician with our esteemed national client in Western Brisbane's Sumner Park.

Role Essentials:
Position: Electrical Rail Control Systems Technician
Location: Sumner Park, Western Brisbane (near Ipswich)
Work Hours: Monday to Thursday, Day Shifts (6am-3:30pm), Friday (6am-12pm)

Responsibilities include:
You'll be apart of the service, installation, and warranty maintenance team within our Western Brisbane workshop. Your tasks will revolve around:
  • Servicing and overhauling Vacuum Circuit breakers, Surge arrestors, and other HV 25KV equipment
  • Diagnosing VCB functionality (previous exposure desirable)
  • Refurbishing VCB hardware using specific OEM sourced hardware
  • Repairing electro-mechanical VCB internal assemblies with precision
  • Testing VCB Assemblies after treatment, both statically and dynamically
  • Using electrical and electronic tooling for testing procedures
  • Ensuring safety protocols during testing
  • Working with software like SAP, CADIM, Excel, and custom software
  • Efficiently maintaining records and documentation
Requirements:
  • TAFE Electrical, Electronics Engineering Diploma, and/or Electrical License
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with precise electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Knowledge of rail systems or electrical modules/sub-assemblies (preferred)
  • Proficiency in maintenance and testing procedures
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical control systems experience, including diagnostics and repairs
  • A team player open to learning from experienced colleagues
Desirable Skills:
  • Electrical Contractors License
  • Experience with rolling stock or rail equipment
  • Holding an RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker card) is a plus
Additional Necessities:
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment medical examination
  • Valid Australian working rights
