About the client:
Our client is in the rail industry and looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Mechanical Fitter keen to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the role:
This role is a full-time permanent role for someone looking for stable employment in a supportive team. Previous experience with locomotives will be highly regarded.

Pay:
$40 per hour + penalties

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Relevant Trade Certificate (Cert III)
• Rail equipment experience (desired)
• Team-orientated attitude
• A genuine commitment to workplace safety

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively engage in daily workshop production
• Ensure top-quality work, preventing rework
• Adhere to repair guidelines
• Assess part reusability and manage replacements
• Use diagnostic tools to determine repair plan and test units accordingly
• Prepare and clean components
• Meet task deadlines with organized paperwork
• Participate in internal training
• Identify waste and areas for improvement
• Execute quality assurance tasks as directed by Operations Manager
• Maintain a clean, organized workshop and fulfill assigned duties professionally and efficiently
