Senior Signalling Engineer (Design)
Location: Sydney/Brisbane/Melbourne
Salary:Open to discussion on screening call. 

About the Role:
As Senior Signalling Engineer, you’ll act as the technical lead across key rail projects, with a strong focus on design integrity, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You'll lead a team of signalling designers and play a central role in ensuring all engineering outputs meet both regulatory and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee detailed design of rail signalling systems in accordance with national standards
  • Provide high-level technical guidance across multiple projects
  • Act as independent design verifier/checker and ensure compliance with client, statutory, and safety requirements
  • Mentor and support junior designers and engineers within the team
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing, site testing, and commissioning activities for signalling systems and equipment.
  • Manage project timelines and contribute to project reporting and risk management
About You:
  • Degree-qualified Engineer
  • Minimum Level 2 Signalling Competency (MTM, V/Line, ARTC, or QR) (Level 3 preferred)
  • Strong signalling design background, ideally leading teams or large packages of work
  • RPEV or REPQ (or eligible to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience working across the full project lifecycle
  • Clear communicator with a proactive and collaborative mindset
Desirable:
  • IRSE accreditation
  • Experience with Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) systems
  • Understanding of level crossing technology and grade crossing predictors
