Site Safety Coordinator – Part time
2XM Recruit are looking for a skilled "Site Safety Coordinator" for a major construction project in Sydney. The position involves ensuring safety protocols during the commissioning phase until the final Operational Certificate (OC) is obtained.
Although the construction site has advanced significantly so the major risks are mostly eliminated, the presence of a safety coordinator is necessary for approximately 3 months, working part-time, 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The candidate will be supported by on-site and national safety managers. 
  • Monday – Friday site based - 6 hours per day - 30 hours per week total
  • 3 months Contract 
  • Rate: $50-$65 P/H
  • A white card is required for this role.
  • Manufacturing, engineering or construction background.

Responsibilities:
The role primarily involves on-site, feet on the ground activities such as conducting regular site walks, inspecting exclusion zones, overseeing lifting and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) procedures, and contributing to site documentation. The candidate is expected to provide a weekly safety report.

Key responsibilities include:
  • "Safety coordinator" level or equivalent, with a minimum certification of H&S at level 3.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in construction processes and familiarity with local site regulations and legislation, including but not limited to the test and tag register, WHS legislation concerning fall protection, and Australian Work Safe guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical installations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs with the ability to generate weekly reports.
  • Capability to develop Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and conduct risk assessments in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Ability to liaise, cooperate, and coordinate activities with all relevant stakeholders, including PCBU, customers, and managers.
  • Regular on-site inspections to promptly identify and address safety concerns, with a minimum frequency of three times per day.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for training personnel on WHS procedures and providing strategic advice.
  • Proficiency in hazard identification, risk management, and the implementation of health and safety plans.
  • Advanced documentation skills for accurately recording, investigating, and reporting safety performance.
  • Capability to efficiently manage injury and compliance investigations.
  • Previous experience in WHS is required, preferably within the construction industry, with exposure to working with unions, automation businesses, and under a PCBU.
