Are you an experienced telecommunications expert looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a dedicated Controls and Communication Technician to join our esteemed Rail business partner's team. As an integral part of the team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting vital infrastructure assets across Central QLD.

As a Controls and Communication Technician, you'll enjoy an 8-day fortnight roster that includes on-call responsibilities on a scheduled basis. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks, including routine and preventative maintenance, fault finding, rectification, commissioning, and decommissioning. Accurate record-keeping and relevant reporting will be essential. You'll need to ensure that materials and tools are well-maintained and ready for scheduled works. Your role may also require out-of-town travel across the Central Queensland Coal Network for closures and maintenance.

What We're Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Current Class C Driver's License (essential)
  • ACA Base Cabling and Restricted Electrical Work licenses (essential, with support provided for obtaining)
  • Certificate III in Electronics & Communications Trade Qualification (essential)
  • Proficiency in asset repair, maintenance, and overhaul
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial telecommunications systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Extensive understanding of defects and fault rectification, testing, and commissioning/decommissioning of network systems
