Job description

  • Are you an experience Electrical Trade Assistant or Electrical Fitter looking for a new role? 
  • Location - Northern suburbs Melbourne 
  • Day shift - 6.00am-2.30pm or 7.00am-3.30pm 
  • 6 month contract with possible view for extension or permant roles after
2XM Recruit is working with a National leader in electrical solutions industry. Working across a variety of low to high-voltage sectors including infrastructure, resource, and commercial - our client supplies a range of premium quality products such as switchboards, substations and switch rooms.

THE ROLE:
  • Electrical switchboard and enclosure installations
  • Working on electrical equipment, manufacturing and installing copper bus bars
  • Ensuring the safe and precise wiring of various electrical components
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams
  • Adhere to regulations and standards
Your work will be divided into two main categories: bus bar manufacture and installation, and wiring of equipment. In this role, you will be expected to:

THE WORK:
• Modify switchboard enclosure gear panels, doors, segregations, and penetrations as needed
• Safely install high-voltage and low-voltage switchgear components
• Manufacture and install copper bus bar support systems
• Fabricate copper bus bars in various sizes
• Properly tighten and check copper connections to equipment
• Install various wiring accessories and electrical components
• Perform cable crimping, termination, and electrical wiring
• Read and understand engineering drawings and schematics
• Utilize testing equipment and instruments to identify and repair faults in electrical installations
• Collaborate effectively with a team of fellow fitters and adhere to company health and safety policies

THE CANDIDATE:
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent - or relevant experience in Electrical experience 
• Knowledge of electrical switchboards, control systems, wiring and copper bus bar work, motor control, power distribution, electrical installations, and manufacturing practices.
• A team player with good communication skills.
• Drivers licence
