As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the highly skilled and award winning Geotechnical team. Your involvement will drive the advancement of construction methodologies and the innovation of temporary works design initiatives.
Your wealth of technical expertise will be harnessed across a wide array of projects within the extensive client portfolio, which includes award-winning teams in Transport, Water, Wastewater, and Mining. 
You'll collaborate with some of the industry's most accomplished experts in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Tunneling. Your contributions will be integral to the successful bidding and execution of projects, with unwavering support available at every stage from our skilled resources across the national business.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead the planning, management, and successful execution of intricate structural engineering projects in Melbourne and throughout Australia.
  • Ensure that projects are consistently delivered within specified timeframes and budgets, consistently surpassing client expectations.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in technologies, methodologies, and research and development within the field.
  • Take on the responsibility of planning and overseeing smaller projects or specific sections of larger projects.
  • Contribute to the design of both temporary and permanent structural systems. Additionally, engage in regular internal peer reviews of technical deliverables.
  • Exhibit safety leadership by identifying and mitigating high-priority safety hazards, particularly during Safety in Design assessments and during the peer review process while considering construction activities.
  • Participate in training activities, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to fellow engineers and team members, including the training of less-experienced engineers to promote technical excellence.
  • Develop, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the workforce involved in significant engineering projects to ensure they meet established completion deadlines.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities and prepare all necessary project documentation.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, and high-quality deliverables to present to clients.
About you:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural engineering 
  • Professional Chartered Engineer (CPEng) (or working towards it) 
  • Extensive industry experience as Senior Structural Engineer (preferably 8+ years)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the design of temporary and permanent structural systems 
  • Previous experience with trenchless/tunnelling construction, microtunnelling construction or stage stage support.
  • Experience with “First Principle” design of complex structures 
  • Experience in using structural FE design software
