Testing & Commissioning Manager

Location: Brisbane - Eagle Farm 
 
We are looking for an experienced Testing & Commissioning Manager to lead, plan, and execute all testing and commissioning activities across major rail infrastructure projects. This is a critical role where your expertise will directly contribute to safe, efficient, and high-performing rail systems.
You will oversee the on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of rail systems, ensuring full compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. You will also lead a team of skilled professionals, manage key project milestones, and ensure successful system integration before final handover.

Key Responsibilties 
  • Oversee and coordinate the engineering design management process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Collaborate closely with civil engineering contractors and subcontractors to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Develop, update, and manage project schedules and documentation to maintain alignment with key milestones.
  • Create and implement procurement strategies and maintain essential procurement documentation.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Document Controller, and engineering teams to ensure all submissions meet compliance standards and deadlines.
  • Prepare and present reports for both internal and external stakeholders, keeping everyone informed of progress.
  • Identify and track weekly deliverables from the project schedule, communicating them effectively to the project team in progress meetings.
  • Highlight and communicate key project milestones and deliverable timelines.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on Scope of Work progress to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Support the development of documentation for future project bids, contributing to business growth.
TIC Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing and commissioning plans.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation for testing and commissioning activities.
  • Optimize the allocation of resources, both human and physical, to ensure smooth testing and commissioning processes.
  • Identify and address potential risks related to safety, cost, schedule, quality, procurement, and staffing, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with project management and construction teams to ensure all site preparations are completed before testing and commissioning activities.
  • Provide regular reports on the progress of testing and commissioning activities.
  • Support the development of team members’ skills and capabilities, enhancing overall team competence.
  • Foster effective working relationships with the engineering, project management, and construction teams, as well as clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholder
Skills & Experience Required
  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working as a Tester in Charge (TIC) within the rail industry is highly preferable.
  • Strong understanding of rail systems, signalling, and commissioning protocols.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
