2XM Recruit are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor for a leading Engineering and Rail Specialist business.

Role: Health and Safety Advisor

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 plus Super

With works spanning tunnels, viaducts, and at-grade construction, this is a hands-on role supporting diverse, high-risk activities for an exciting rail infrastructure project in Western Sydney.

Duties:
 

• Assist construction teams with WHS compliance
• Conduct safety walks, inspections, and support incident investigations
• Ensure documentation (SWMS, permits, risk assessments) meets project standards
• Engage with supervisors and workers to promote proactive safety practices
• Monitor high-risk activities (e.g. working at heights, confined space, lifting operations) to ensure controls are implemented and effective
• Participate in toolbox talks, pre-starts, and safety briefings to reinforce site safety messages
• Support site teams with emergency preparedness and drills
• Maintain site safety registers and records, including inductions, training, and competency validations
• Assist in audits and compliance reviews as required by project or client standards
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety systems and site practices

 
Experience needed:

• Proven safety experience in construction or civil infrastructure environments (rail ideal)
• Background in high-risk works (e.g., tunnelling, rail, structures, utilities)
• Solid understanding of NSW WHS legislation and safety systems
• Excellent communication and influencing skills on site
• Must be eligible for RIW competency validation
